A drawing is a controlled instruction, not a photograph of reality
Drawings and specifications express the design intent using the information available at the time of issue. Site delivery adds variables that the drawing cannot physically contain: actual levels, subsurface conditions, access, adjacent structures, weather, workmanship, material availability and the sequence chosen by the contractor. Manage interfaces before they become rework
Many field problems are interface problems rather than single-discipline errors. A structural opening affects reinforcement; a drainage level affects road formation; a plant replacement affects loads, access and power; a façade detail affects waterproofing and maintenance. Reviewing each package in isolation hides these dependencies.
Create an interface register for decisions that cross design, procurement or construction boundaries. Each line should name the interface, required inputs, decision owner, latest decision date and affected activities. Close the loop across every affected record
A technically correct field answer can still fail if the updated information does not reach procurement, quality, planning or the next shift.
